Convert DXF to SVG online
Turn a DXF into a clean, scale-accurate SVG in your browser. Layers are kept as groups, colours come from the drawing, and when the units are known the SVG carries real millimetre dimensions.
Free · no sign-up · the file is read in your browser and never uploaded.
SVG is the web-friendly way to share or embed a CAD drawing, and DXFTools produces a faithful one: geometry is converted with a correct Y-axis flip (DXF is Y-up, SVG is Y-down), each layer becomes a labelled group, and stroke colours follow the drawing's layer colours.
Scale is preserved. When the DXF declares its units, the exported SVG includes physical width and height in millimetres so it prints and places at the right size; if units are unknown the proportions are still exact, just without a physical size.
Conversion happens entirely in your browser — the DXF is never uploaded — so it's fast, private and free, with no AutoCAD or online-converter account involved.
What you get
- Scale-accurate SVG 1.1 output
- Layers preserved as labelled groups
- Layer colours carried into strokes
- Real millimetre dimensions when units are known
- Converts in your browser — nothing is uploaded
Frequently asked questions
- Is the SVG to scale?
- Yes. When the DXF has units, the SVG includes physical millimetre dimensions. When units are unknown, the proportions are still exact but without a physical size.
- Are layers kept in the SVG?
- Yes. Each DXF layer becomes a labelled group in the SVG, with stroke colours taken from the layer colours.
- Do I need AutoCAD or any paid software?
- No. Everything runs in a normal web browser. There is no install, no licence and no account required.
- Do you upload or store my DXF file?
- No. The file is read and processed entirely in your browser using your device's own resources. It is never sent to a server or stored anywhere.
