View and inspect DXF files online

Drop in a DXF and see the drawing instantly. Click any entity to read its layer, type and exact coordinates — a fast way to open and check a CAD file without AutoCAD or any paid software.

Open the viewer

Free · no sign-up · the file is read in your browser and never uploaded.

Sometimes you just need to look inside a DXF: confirm it opens, see what's on each layer, and check a dimension before you send it to a machine or a client. DXFTools renders the geometry on a canvas and lets you click any line, arc, circle or polyline to inspect its properties in a side panel.

The whole thing runs in your browser. The file is read locally and never uploaded, so it works offline once loaded and keeps drawings you're handling under NDA private to your machine.

Very large files stay responsive — click-to-inspect is optimised for big drawings, and the viewer tells you if a drawing is large enough that some geometry is simplified for display.

What you get

  • Renders lines, arcs, circles, polylines and points
  • Click any entity for its layer, type and coordinates
  • Reads the drawing's real units from the DXF header
  • Runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded
  • No AutoCAD, install or account needed

Frequently asked questions

What file types can I open?
DXF files (drawing exchange format) produced by AutoCAD and most other CAD tools. The file is parsed directly in your browser.
Can I see what's on each layer?
Yes. The viewer reads the layer table and the geometry, and the Layers tool lets you show, hide and isolate individual layers.
Do I need AutoCAD or any paid software?
No. Everything runs in a normal web browser. There is no install, no licence and no account required.
Do you upload or store my DXF file?
No. The file is read and processed entirely in your browser using your device's own resources. It is never sent to a server or stored anywhere.
